Hannover Medical School Launches Total-Body PET/CT System for Research and Diagnostics
Hannover Medical School (MHH) has inaugurated its "Total-Body PET Center Lower Saxony" with the introduction of the uMI Panorama GS, a state-of-the-art total-body PET/CT system from United Imaging. This marks the first deployment of such a system in Germany, promising advancements in both clinical imaging and translational research.
The new system will facilitate high-resolution, whole-body imaging through its 148 cm axial field of view. This technology is set to enhance precision diagnostics in areas such as oncology, cardiovascular, and neurological imaging. MHH aims to develop novel low-dose and rapid scanning protocols, advancing systematic assessments of tissue perfusion and metabolism.
Enhancing capabilities in molecular imaging, the center will explore parametric imaging protocols, furthering research in predictive and preventative medical applications.
