Universal EV Chargers Gains Federal Funding for Tennessee's EV Infrastructure

Universal EV Chargers LLC announced it has obtained a significant portion of over $21 million in federal funds. This funding, granted by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and the Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), is directed toward enhancing the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Tennessee. This marks a crucial step for Universal EV Chargers in its mission to provide accessible EV charging options.

The company emerged as a major recipient in this initiative, securing awards for eight charging sites, indicating a strong commitment to sustainable transportation. Competing closely, Love's Travel Stops received five site awards, followed by Pilot Travel Centers and PowerUp America with four each, and Tesla with one, keeping its lead with 42 NEVI awards overall. Collaboration with Tritium played a vital role in achieving this success, alongside Lynkwell's contribution in software provision for charging stations.

Hemal Doshi, CEO of Universal EV Chargers, shared his optimism about this funding, emphasizing the aligned goals of accelerating electric vehicle adoption and improving charging infrastructure across Tennessee. The company aims to leverage this funding to expand its reliable and sustainable charging solutions.

This federal funding injection positions Tennessee towards a greener transportation future, with Universal EV Chargers at the helm of this transformation by enhancing the EV charging network for residents and travelers.
