Versity Announces General Availability of the Versity S3 Gateway

Versity Software, Inc. has announced the general availability of the Versity S3 Gateway, an innovative tool designed to translate AWS S3 object commands to various storage systems, including file-based and Azure. Following a year-long development phase, this open-source project is now fully functional and accessible to the public.

The Versity S3 Gateway has been developed in collaboration with the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre and Los Alamos National Laboratory. It aims to enhance data compatibility, offering scalable performance and high-speed processing. The tool facilitates direct communication between objects and computational storage devices, leveraging Apache columnar analytics community tools for efficient data reduction.

The release marks a significant milestone, empowering businesses to bridge the gap between different storage systems. Its modular backend design supports multiple POSIX file-based storage systems, Azure cloud, NVMe computational devices, and Versity’s ScoutFS filesystem. Versity remains committed to fostering open-source collaboration and innovation within the developer community.
