Villa Launches New ADU Line Focused on Comfortable Aging and Mobility

Villa, renowned for its leadership in prefabricated Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), introduces the Villa Comfort Series, a pioneering product aimed at facilitating aging with dignity. Set to debut in Spring 2024, this series is designed to meet the needs of seniors and individuals with mobility challenges by offering spacious, single-story living spaces. This development aligns with a growing trend among adults who prefer to age in their own homes, providing an option that combines independence with close proximity to caregivers or family.

An AARP survey highlights that a significant majority of adults show a preference for aging in place, but face obstacles such as safety concerns and increased living costs. Villa's new ADUs tackle these issues head-on, offering design features like wider doorways and ramp access to support mobility, and the opportunity to downsize within one's community affordably. In a notable move, Assembly Bill 1033 further facilitates this by enabling California residents to sell their primary homes while retaining their ADUs, thus easing the transition into retirement.

Villa's CEO, Sean Roberts, emphasized the attention to universal design principles, ensuring the adaptability of living spaces to changing needs. The ADUs come equipped with mobility-friendly features and optional upgrades for personalization. Moreover, these units promise not only safety and accessibility but also luxurious and comfortable interiors. For those interested, Villa has opened a waitlist for the Comfort Series, with incentives for early sign-ups.
