VINCI acquires 20% of Budapest Airport
VINCI Airports has signed an agreement to acquire 20% of the concession company of Budapest Airport, thus becoming the operator of the platform. The concession, whose residual duration is more than 55 years, will expire in 2080.
With 16 million passengers in 2019, Budapest Airport is one of the main ones in Central Europe. VINCI Airports, already present in Portugal, the United Kingdom, France and Serbia, is strengthening its position in Europe, reaching a total of nearly 154 million passengers managed.
In 2023, airport traffic reached 90% of its pre-pandemic level and exceeded 2019 figures by more than 8% for the first months of 2024. VINCI Airports plans investments to improve the customer experience and support traffic growth, with a goal of net zero emissions by 2030.
