VINCI wins concession in Brazil for BR-040 highway linking Belo Horizonte to Cristalina

VINCI Highways, a subsidiary of VINCI Concessions, has won the concession for the operation and modernization of the BR-040 motorway in Brazil. This 594 km toll motorway connects Belo Horizonte to Cristalina and also serves Brasilia. The concession is for a period of 30 years.

Operation will begin in the first quarter of 2025 after a transition phase in collaboration with the Brazilian National Road Transport Agency (ANTT). The work program includes widening the road by 300 km, building service roads over 60 km, and building wildlife crossings and a 600-hectare reforestation plan.

In 2023, the highway recorded 17.5 million transactions, with 40% heavy vehicles. VINCI will thus continue its development in Brazil, where it also manages airports and highways in several states.
