VitrA Tiles Advances Sustainability with New Solar Power Plant
VitrA Tiles, part of the Eczacıbaşı Group, has inaugurated its solar power plant in Aksaray, enhancing its sustainability efforts. This 30 MWe/36 MWp facility follows the 3.5 MW rooftop solar installation in Bozüyük, made operational in 2023. More than half of the electricity used by the company in Türkiye this year will now be derived from renewable energy sources.
The plant, equipped with 65,520 PV modules, is designed to meet the annual electricity demands of around 19,700 households and cut carbon emissions by 37,190 tons annually. The initiative aligns with VitrA Tiles' goal to generate all its electricity from renewables by 2030, as highlighted by CEO Mert Karasu.
The project commenced in April 2024 and began generating power in February 2025. It signifies both environmental progress and economic advantage, paving the way for sectoral innovation.
