VitrA Tiles Opens Aksaray Solar Power Plant to Boost Sustainability
VitrA Tiles has officially inaugurated its new solar power plant in Aksaray, advancing its sustainability goals. Part of the Eczacıbaşı Group, the company emphasizes its commitment to green energy. The facility represents VitrA Tiles' second attempt to transition to renewable energy, following a 3.5 MW rooftop plant in Bozüyük, commissioned in 2023.
The Aksaray plant, with a capacity of 30 MWe, aims to supply over half of VitrA Tiles' electricity needs in Türkiye through renewable sources this year. This initiative is expected to generate enough power for around 19,700 households and reduce carbon emissions by 37,190 tons annually.
CEO Mert Karasu highlighted the company's goal to fully meet its electricity demand through renewable sources by 2030. The solar plant began operations in February 2025, demonstrating both environmental and economic benefits.
