Vizzia Technologies and GSU Address $14 Billion Nursing Efficiency Issue
Vizzia Technologies, in partnership with Georgia State University's Lewis College of Nursing, has published a white paper detailing the $14 billion annual loss in nurse productivity due to time spent searching for medical equipment. This study highlights the potential of real-time location systems (RTLS) to enhance efficiency and patient care within healthcare settings.
The research, approved by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), finds that nurses lose up to an hour per shift in equipment searches, significantly impacting hospital operations and safety. RTLS solutions can improve nurse safety, reduce time waste, and subsequently enrich patient care protocols.
Georgia State University will further discuss these findings and the future of RTLS in healthcare at a public panel with leaders from major Atlanta healthcare institutions. The event will also showcase GSU's new nursing simulation center, promoting advanced training and technology integration in nursing education.
