Vonovia Issues First Kangaroo Bond on Australian Market
Vonovia SE has successfully issued its first Australian dollar bond, also known as a Kangaroo Bond, with a total placement of AUD 850 million. These unsecured bonds have been issued in two series with maturities of seven and ten years. The weighted yield stands at 3.87% after currency hedging. This issuance marks a significant milestone for the company, facilitating its expansion into the Asia-Pacific region.
Chief Financial Officer Philip Grosse highlighted the strong demand for the bond, demonstrating Vonovia’s global attractiveness and excellent access to international capital markets. Since 2023, Vonovia has systematically expanded its investor base, recently opening markets in the UK, Switzerland, and Norway.
The company's credit ratings remain stable, with Standard & Poor’s affirming a BBB+ rating, signaling a strong credit profile. Vonovia aims to enhance financial flexibility through targeted expansions and market opportunities.
