Wienerberger Modernizes Brick Plant in Romania

Wienerberger has completed a significant upgrade of its brick plant in Berca, Romania. The facility now features state-of-the-art technology, enhancing production efficiency while decreasing resource use and CO2 emissions. The modernization process took eight months and aims to support the construction of net zero buildings.

The upgrade is part of Wienerberger's broader ecological transformation strategy. Equipped with advanced technology, the plant will reduce carbon emissions by approximately 4,000 tons annually through an innovative drying process.

Heimo Scheuch, CEO of Wienerberger, emphasized the importance of the Romanian market. The upgrade in Berca aligns with Wienerberger's sustainability goals, including a 25% reduction in production emissions by 2026 and achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
