Wiz Raises $1 Billion in Latest Funding Round, Valued at $12 Billion
Wiz, a leader in cloud security, announced a significant fundraising achievement, securing $1 billion at a valuation of $12 billion. This round, led by notable investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Thrive Capital, increases the company's total funding to $1.9 billion. Joining the round were Greylock, Wellington Management, and several existing investors.
The funds arrive shortly after Wiz acquired Gem Security to enhance its Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP). This move aligns with Wiz's objective to prepare for a potential Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the future.
Founded just four years ago, Wiz reported a $350 million Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in 2023, serving 40% of the Fortune 100 companies. The company received accolades such as the highest-ranked cloud security firm in the Forbes Cloud 100 and excelled in The Forrester Wave™ for Cloud Workload Security.
Wiz plans to utilize the new funds to further its merger and acquisition strategy, attract top talent, and foster product innovation. This latest funding round highlights its commitment to advancing cloud and AI security in alignment with growing market needs.
