World first: a wind turbine foundation made of 0% clinker carbon-free concrete
Chaillé-sous-les-Ormeaux, June 17, 2024 – The VALOREM Group and Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies announce the creation of the first wind turbine foundation in the world in 0% clinker low-carbon concrete.
On the site of the Plaine des Moulins wind farm in Jazeneuil, the foundation of the wind turbine was poured with 630 m³ of carbon-free concrete, saving 33 tonnes of CO2. This park will include five wind turbines producing 42 GWh of green electricity and will be commissioned in early 2025.
Baptiste Walyn from VALOREM underlines the importance of this innovation in reducing the carbon impact of wind projects. Julien Blanchard and David Hoffmann, co-founders of Hoffmann Green, say this achievement strengthens their position in the renewable energy sector.
This project is the result of five years of successful tests, validated by Technical Experimental Assessments (ATEx) from the CSTB.
