Yandex Reports Impressive Growth in Entertainment Sector

Yandex has unveiled its financial results for Q4 2024 and the full year, marking a notable 37% revenue increase to 1.1 trillion rubles ($11.22 billion). The company's adjusted EBITDA rose to 188.6 billion rubles, making up 17.2% of total revenue. The highlight of this growth is attributed to the Yandex Plus subscription, where subscriber numbers soared by 29% to 39.2 million in 2024.

Kinopoisk, Yandex's flagship streaming service, remains Russia's largest online streaming platform. Viewership reached 4.7 billion hours last year, with monthly viewing time per subscriber increasing by 25%. This underscores Yandex's strategic focus on a diverse entertainment ecosystem to captivate Russian audiences.

Olga Filipuk, the new head of Yandex's Entertainment Ecosystem, will oversee the company's key services, focusing on international expansion and technological innovation in content delivery.
