Zalando Completes ABOUT YOU Acquisition, Eyes European E-commerce Growth

Zalando SE and ABOUT YOU Holding SE have finalized a merger, aiming to dominate the European fashion and lifestyle e-commerce market. The European Commission approved the transaction on July 1, 2025. Zalando now holds 91.45% of ABOUT YOU's share capital, planning a full acquisition via a squeeze-out.

This partnership leverages each company's strengths to enhance B2C and B2B operations. Zalando Co-CEO Robert Gentz highlighted the merger's potential to create a robust e-commerce ecosystem across Europe. ABOUT YOU's Co-CEO Tarek Müller emphasized the collaboration's focus on innovation and growth.

The merger promises significant synergies, with plans for about 100 million euros in EBIT savings annually. Zalando expects to report on the combined group's outlook in its upcoming financial results.
