Platform Aerospace Flies the Vanilla UAS for NASA in Thule, Greenland
Vanilla Unmanned successfully flew a mission for NASA to the inland sheet of Greenland, carrying a sensor provided by the CReSIS to provide validation data for the ICESATâ2 satellite. The mission aimed to measure snow depth on top of the ice, enabling improved calculations of ice volume. Platform Aerospace, the host of Thule Air Base, demonstrated environmental hardening technologies and techniques to operate the Vanilla UAV in subfreezing conditions. The baseline Vanilla UAS is not ITAR restricted, allowing international shipping and worldwide support. For more information, contact info@platformaero.com or visit https://platformaerospace.com.
