Luxury beachfront resort Ammatara Pura Pool Villas, represented by London-based boutique agency Raymani PR, today announced the milestone results of its 2026 global community initiative. Spearheaded by Owner and CEO Ying Trangkasombut, the resort partnered with Care Fund Tucson board member Derrick Polder to support families in medical crisis, while providing international athlete sponsorship for 15-year-old Team USA Muay Thai competitor Eli Hunter Espiritu.
In 2026, Ammatara Pura Pool Villas has put its resources behind a young American athlete competing in Thailand and a fundraiser for Arizona families facing a child’s medical crisis.
The luxury Koh Samui resort sponsored Muay Thai athlete Eli Espiritu and donated a villa stay to Care Fund Tucson’s charity auction. The contributions brought together support for an individual’s development and fundraising for an organization that helps families remain in their homes while caring for a seriously ill or injured child.
For Ammatara, these efforts sit within a tradition of giving shaped by owner and CEO Ying Trangkasombut’s personal involvement in philanthropy.
A Personal Foundation for Giving
The Trangkasombut family opened Ammatara Pura in 2012. Ying’s career has spanned fashion, property investment and hospitality, but her charitable interests have consistently involved direct contact with the people she supports.
While living in Belsize Park, London, she volunteered and cared for people experiencing homelessness. In Thailand, her ongoing work with older people includes donations, personal care and organizing dance performances that create opportunities for enjoyment and connection.
Backing a Young Athlete on the International Stage
Among Ammatara’s commitments this year was its sponsorship of Eli Hunter Espiritu, who represented Team USA in Muay Thai in Thailand. Eli made the trip at age 15, with years of training already behind him.
For Ying, the sponsorship also held personal significance. Her son, Lionel, is half American, making support for a young boy from the United States a cause close to her heart.
Eli’s father, Anthony, introduced him to martial arts at age 4. He later moved into Muay Thai at age 10, developing a commitment that his family describes as central to his growth. According to his parents, his achievements include a bronze medal at the 2024 Amazing Muay Thai World Festival in Thailand and national titles in the Thai Boxing Association and US Muay Thai Open.
“I fell in love with Muay Thai because it constantly challenges me to become better,” Eli said in written responses about his experience.
His mother described the time he devotes to training, conditioning, diet, recovery and competition preparation. Eli said the sport had helped him develop discipline and patience, while competing abroad brought new friendships and opportunities to learn.
Ammatara’s sponsorship helped support that international experience. For Eli, the encouragement was as meaningful as the opportunity itself.
“Having Ammatara Pura Resort believe in my dream made my Muay Thai journey even more special. Their support gave me confidence to compete internationally and represent Team USA with pride,” he said.
Turning A Resort Stay into Support for Families
Ammatara’s charitable activity also reached Arizona through its support for Care Fund Tucson and the Wonderlust gala, held on 10 October 2026. The resort donated a seven-day stay for two adults in a villa with a private pool to the charity’s live auction. The package included all meals and nonalcoholic beverages, plus pickup and drop-off between the resort and Samui Airport or any pier on Koh Samui.
The villa stay proved to be one of the most popular items at the live auction, contributing to the evening’s fundraising success in support of Care Fund families.
The donation put the resort’s hospitality offering to use as a fundraising asset. Care Fund provides rent and mortgage assistance to Arizona families experiencing financial hardship while caring for a child with an extended or critical illness or injury. That support helps parents focus on their child’s care without the added threat of losing their home.
According to Care Fund’s published Tucson figures, its work in Tucson and surrounding areas over the past decade has provided $1.121 million in rent and mortgage assistance, helped 2,058 children and adults, and secured 169,148 nights in family homes.
Assal “Pursia” Bressan served as co-chair of Wonderlust 2026, helping connect sponsors, supporters and community partners with the cause.
That effort was supported by Piper Jameson, Care Fund’s CEO and executive director, and Derrick Polder, a board member and Tucson Advisory Chair. Polder also leads The Polder Group at CrossCountry Mortgage, which Care Fund credits as a title sponsor for the past four years.
Claire Mandel, who served as chair in 2022, contributed to the event’s creative direction and guest experience as a consultant and Wonderlust Entertainment Chair. Courtney Lage, Care Fund’s development director, supported the gala through her work in fundraising, donor relationships, corporate partnerships and community outreach. Together with the Tucson Advisory Council, volunteers and sponsors, they helped make the evening a success and continue to sustain the organization’s work.
Raymani PR Adds its Support
Ammatara Pura is represented by Raymani PR, a London-based boutique agency specializing in luxury public relations, brand strategy and digital marketing. The agency also donated six months of search engine optimization and generative engine optimization services to the auction, a package designed to help a business improve its visibility in search engines and AI-powered discovery.
Ammatara’s Commitment Beyond Hospitality
Ammatara’s commitments in 2026 illustrate two practical ways a hospitality business can give: funding an opportunity for a young person and contributing an experience that a charity can use to raise money. Both extend the resort’s resources beyond its guests, building on the personal involvement in giving that runs through Ying’s work.
