ChargeOne builds charging infrastructure in Europe for SIXT SE
- Contract for the initial installation of around 600 charging points in Benelux, Italy and Spain
- ChargeOne will also take over operation and maintenance of installed charging points in the coming years
Munich, June 19, 2023 – SIXT is also relying on ChargeOne to expand its own charging infrastructure outside the DACH region. In order to be able to recharge the growing electric rental car fleet directly on site after returning the vehicle, a total of around 600 additional charging points are to be installed at SIXT stations in Benelux, Italy and Spain. For the installation, operation and maintenance of the charging infrastructure, SIXT is once again relying on ChargeOne, the specialist for e-mobility charging solutions and brand of Claus Heinemann Elektroanlagen GmbH. Classic wallboxes and, depending on the location, DC fast chargers will be installed. The construction (including the earthworks) of the first charging points is to begin shortly.
In the DACH region, ChargeOne had already received an order from SIXT to install charging points. According to the contract, more than 1,000 additional charging points are to be installed at SIXT stations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland by the end of 2023. In addition, ChargeOne will also take over operation of the charging points and service in the coming years.
"We are pleased that SIXT is also relying on ChargeOne for the expansion of its charging infrastructure outside the DACH region. As a large building technology specialist, we are independent of the manufacturers of the wallboxes and fast chargers and can select the appropriate product for customers in each case," said Robert Klug, CEO of heinemann group SE. "Germany and all of Europe need a massive expansion of the charging infrastructure in order to make the transition to electromobility and the energy transition a success. Together with customers like SIXT, we are contributing to the success of this mammoth task. In doing so, we want to further develop ChargeOne into one of the leading charging infrastructure operators in Germany in the coming years." As a charge point operator (CPO), ChargeOne offers commercial customers throughout Germany a wide range of services, from traditional purchasing to flexible "Charging as a Service" models with full service for the installation and operation of charging points.
