Eiffage Génie Civil and VINCI Construction secured in consortium  with Veolia the design and build contract for the civil engineering

of three SEDIF water treatment plants, worth more than €400 million

The consortium represented by Eiffage Génie Civil (mandatory) and Chantiers Modernes Construction, subsidiary of VINCI Construction, were selected by Veolia for the civil engineering design and build of three water treatment plants. This contract is part of the concession awarded to Veolia by Syndicat des Eaux d’Île-de-France (SEDIF) to manage public drinking water services in Île-de-France region. It is worth more than €400 million, to be shared equally between Eiffage Génie Civil and Chantiers Modernes Construction.

The contract includes the design and construction of building frameworks for the new lowpressure reverse osmosis (LPRO)* treatment plants, the upgrading of power supply for the water treatment plants in Neuilly-sur-Marne and Choisy-le-Roi, and the conversion of the Méry-sur-Oise plant to equip it with the LPRO technology. It also covers demolition operations, the creation of special foundations, and the construction of ancillary buildings on a general contracting basis.

The LPRO streams concern membrane buildings, associated reactive buildings, a Multiflo decantation (wastewater treatment) facility, and their connection networks and infrastructure. The overhaul of plants power supply includes high-voltage transformer substations, upgrades to existing substations, and the high-voltage connection networks and infrastructure.

The overall design process has been awarded by Veolia to its subsidiary OTV and project management support to Egis Eau. Within the design and build consortium, LELLI Architectes and MVRDV are respectively in charge of architectural services for the facilities in Choisy-le-Roi and in Neuilly-sur-Marne.

* The combination of low-pressure reverse osmosis membranes (LPRO) and nanofiltration will offer optimal micropollutant filtration, while preserving minerality, to provide perfectly safe water at all times. 100% of the water produced will be treated using the membranes, and no remineralisation will be necessary. The high quality of this water will also allow it to be distributed chlorinefree. (Source: SEDIF)
