ENCAVIS grows at an accelerated pace and announces the acquisition of a new wind farm in Everswinkel (28.5 megawatts)
Hamburg, 4 Dezember 2024 – The Hamburg-based wind and solar park operator Encavis AG has acquired a wind farm with a generation capacity of 28.5 megawatts (MW) in Everswinkel (North Rhine-Westphalia) from UKA Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen Holding GmbH. The wind farm, located east of Münster, consists of two projects, of which Everswinkel I (22.8 MW) has been connected to the grid since August 2024 and Everswinkel II (5.7 MW) has been under construction since May 2024. The construction of Everswinkel II is being carried out by UKA Projektträger GmbH & Co. KG.
“After acquiring a wind farm in Saxony from UKA at the end of last year, we are continuing our excellent cooperation. The acquisition of the Everswinkel wind farm is another example of the accelerated expansion of our wind and solar capacities in Germany and Europe,” says Mario Schirru, CIO/COO of Encavis AG.
“We are delighted to be continuing our trusting and professional partnership with Encavis AG and to be making a joint contribution to the energy transition with our turnkey energy projects. The Everswinkel wind farm is a good example of the seamless coordination of location, plant technology and components to generate highest energy yields in the long term. Plus, there is added value for the region that results from the expansion of renewable energies,” says Stefan Kath, COO of UKA Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen GmbH & Co. KG.
Everswinkel I has four Nordex N149 wind turbines, while Everswinkel II has one Nordex N163 wind turbine. The five wind turbines, each with a generation capacity of 5.7 MW, collectively produce approximately 64 gigawatt hours (GWh) of green electricity annually. The electricity generated is secured through an EEG feed-in tariff, ensuring a 20-year purchase agreement.
