Quimper, January 30, 2024 at 8:00am CET – Entech (FR0014004362 – ALESE), the technology company specialised in smart renewable energy storage and management, is taking part in the EVELIXIA project, supported by Horizon Europe, the European Union’s framework programme for research and innovation. The E-factory, Entech’s headquarters and demonstration unit, is one of the project’s seven pilot sites. Entech’s responsibilities will include designing and integrating a hydrogen-based energy storage system that is optimised for long-term storage. Alongside this, Entech will supply an advanced version of its management and supervision software solution ESEsoft, while developing a range of services to optimise energy management for buildings.

Launched in November 2023, the EVELIXIA European project (no.101123238) aims to transform the way we envision buildings. It seeks to show that buildings can become active elements within the energy system, capable of optimising their consumption through local generation, storage and flexible demand. Coordinated by the Hellas Centre for Research & Technology (CERTH) in Greece, EVELIXIA, is helping drive a transition to a smart energy system, enabling occupants to be part of the energy markets without compromising on savings, comfort, health or heritage aspects.

The E-factory, Entech’s headquarters and showcase for the company’s innovative conversion, storage and artificial intelligence solutions, is one of the project’s seven demonstration sites. For the EVELIXIA project, it will host a hydrogen-based energy storage system for long-term storage. This system will include an electrolyser, Li-ion batteries, a compressed hydrogen storage unit and a fuel cell. The project will also fund changes to ESEsoft, Entech’s artificial intelligence-based management and supervision software solution, and the development of a range of services to optimise energy management for buildings.

For this project, Entech will receive €430k of funding over four years, out of a total project budget of around €10.4m.

Entech is delighted to be one of the 36 partners for this research project funded by the Horizon Europe programme for smart buildings, there energy performance and self-consumption. This partnership illustrates our software intelligence and storage expertise, while also validating the advances made and the exemplary features of the technologies developed within the E-factory, particularly in terms of selfconsumption”, confirms Christopher Franquet, Entech’s Chairman, CEO and co-founder.
