Personnel matters: Inga Stein-Barthelmes appointed managing director of HOWOGE Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH

Berlin, 9^th February 2026. The supervisory board of HOWOGE Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH, with Dr Jürgen Allerkamp as its chair, has appointed Inga Stein-Barthelmes onto the management board of HOWOGE.

Inga Stein-Barthelmes will assume her position by 1^st April 2026 and will have responsibility for the technical areas of HOWOGE. She will succeed Ulrich Schiller, who, after seven years, is leaving the company on 31^st March 2026 at his own request. Inga Stein-Barthelmes will run the state-owned housing company together with Jörg Kotzenbauer.

Inga Stein-Barthelmes, who was born in Berlin, is a graduate economist. She is leaving her position at PD GmbH, a company providing consultancy services to the public sector, where, as director and officer with statutory authority, she was head of the department dealing with federal buildings. In this role, she was responsible for managing major projects like the construction of new apartments and barracks buildings as well as estate and urban development projects, including school buildings. In this role she also developed and implemented new approaches to climate- and resource-friendly construction as well as sustainable property management.

Prior to her time at PD GmbH, her positions included that of managing director of planen-bauen 4.0 GmbH. At the Federation of the German Construction Industry [Hauptverband der Deutschen Bauindustrie e.V,], she built up the business unit responsible for political liaison, communication and media. Before that, she held management positions at the Federal Chamber of German Architects [Bundesarchitektenkammer e. V.] and was managing director of D.A.V.I.D GmbH.

Inga Stein-Barthelmes will have responsibility for the technical areas of HOWOGE’s operations. These include, asset and portfolio management, school construction, new construction, technical management and other areas.

Dr Jürgen Allerkamp, chair of the supervisory board: “In Inga Stein-Barthelmes we have gained an experienced senior manager who has proven expertise in the fields of political liaison, business management and construction. Together, we will continue resolutely with HOWOGE’s successful growth course and indeed strengthen this strategy further.”
