Versa Studios Delivers Games Industry Showcase and Co-Produces Behind-the-Scenes Production in Manchester

Versa Studios has announced the delivery of a games-industry showcase and co-produced behind-the-scenes filming at Versa Studios Manchester, bringing together event support, studio facilities and specialist production services in a single project.

The showcase welcomed gamers and streamers from around the world to Manchester for an exclusive presentation of an upcoming game. Versa provided the studio environment for the event and supported its delivery, accommodating both the showcase and the production activity around it.

Alongside the event, Versa co-produced behind-the-scenes filming that included interviews with the game’s creators. The filming ran as a distinct strand of the project, and Versa’s involvement went beyond providing space to include coordinating people, equipment and production requirements across both the event and the filmed material.

A Multi-Disciplinary Studio Project

More than 40 people worked on the project. Versa coordinated crew, lighting, production design, sound and studio space, alongside other production requirements. Bringing these disciplines together in one studio meant the work covered both the physical environment for the showcase and the technical needs of the accompanying filming.

Virtual Production

Virtual production was a further component of the project. Versa brought in a specialist virtual production partner to construct a screen at Versa Studios Manchester and create immersive content inspired by the game. This added a screen-based environment to the production alongside the physical elements assembled for the showcase, and formed part of the wider production coordinated by Versa.

The project reflects the range of activity at Versa Studios Manchester, which includes virtual production, motion capture and wider production services. On this project, Versa’s role covered event support, production coordination and co-production of filmed material.
